Monthly budget planner that suggests your budgets for you
IncomeWise is a monthly budget planner: set a spending limit for any category, watch it fill as you log expenses, and get a warning when you pass 80%. If you are not sure what a budget should be, it suggests one for every category you spend on regularly — from your last months of spending, your bills and subscriptions, your income split and your savings-goal deadlines.
What you get
Suggested budgets
Each suggestion comes with its reason: what the category usually costs, the bills that set its floor, or the share it had to fit inside.
Early warnings
Categories turn amber past 80% and red when exceeded, so you can adjust before the month is gone.
Spending calendar
Every day of the month coloured against your daily budget, with the day’s transactions one tap away.
Never below your bills
A suggestion never drops under the bills and subscriptions you already pay in that category.
How it works
- 1
Open Budget and add a limit for a category — or tap "Add all" on the suggested budgets.
- 2
Log expenses as usual; each category fills up in real time.
- 3
Use the monthly plan and calendar to see where the month is heading.
How the suggestions are worked out
For each category IncomeWise looks at up to six recent months, ignores one-off spikes (a laptop, a wedding gift) so they don’t inflate the budget, and weights recent months most. The result never goes below the bills and subscriptions due in that category.
If your lifestyle categories add up to more than your lifestyle share, they are trimmed proportionally — never more than 30% each, because a budget nobody can live on gets ignored. If a savings goal with a deadline needs more than your plan leaves, lifestyle budgets are trimmed to make room.
Frequently asked questions
Is the budget planner free?
Yes. Category budgets, warnings, the spending calendar, the monthly plan and suggested budgets are all in the free plan.
How does IncomeWise suggest a budget?
From your recent months of spending in that category (one-off spikes are dampened), the bills and subscriptions due in it, your income split and any savings-goal deadlines. Each suggestion shows the reason behind it.
Can I budget weekly instead of monthly?
Budgets are monthly. The spending calendar shows a daily figure (your total budget divided across the month) to keep each day on track.
