What a receipt is worth
A receipt is evidence: for a return, for a warranty repair, for a business expense claim or for your tax records. Paper fades and gets lost; a photo attached to the expense does not.
IncomeWise does not read the text on the receipt — you enter the amount by voice or by typing, and the photo is kept as the record.

Does IncomeWise scan the amount from the receipt?
No. The photo is stored as a record; the amount comes from what you say or type. That keeps it reliable on crumpled or faded receipts.
Can other people see my receipts?
No. A receipt is served only to the account that owns the transaction.
